Important Math's Problem with solution for NRB Bank (Shorts Question)

1.

If the 0.36 is written in simple fractional form, the sum of the numerator and the denominator is…

a.    a. 136  b. 144  c. 74  d. 34

Solution:

here, 0.36 = (0.36 x 100) / 100

                 = 36 / 100

Converting into lowest term, diving both side by 4.

                = 9/25

Now, sum of numerator and denominator = 9 + 25 = 34

Hence, Answer is d, 34.

2.    If 15% of 40 is greater than 25% of a number by 2, what is the number?

a. 14   b. 16  c. 18  d. 20

Solution:

15% of 40 = 15/100 x 40

                 = 6

Now, let, the number is x.

According to question,

25% of x + 2 = 6

25/100  x = 6 – 2

x = 4 x 100/25

   = 16

Hence, Answer is B, 16.

3.    15 persons can build a wall in 20 days. How many person should be added to build the same wall in 5 days.

a. 70    b. 65   c.60    d. 45

Solution.

In 20 days, 15 person can do a work.

In 1 days, 15*20 person can do a work.

In 5 days, (15*20) / 5 person can do a work.

               = 300/5

               = 60 persons.

Hence, Answer is c, 60.

4.    Rs. 120 is divided among A, B, C in such way that A's share ia Rs. 20 more than B and Rs. 20 less than C. What is B's share?

a. Rs. 20  b. Rs. 24  c. Rs. 28  d. Rs. 32

Solution:

Let, Share of A = x

Then, share of B = x - 20

          Share of C = x + 20

Now, x + x – 20 + x + 20 = 120

          or, 3x = 120

          or, x = 40

Finally, B's share = x – 20 = 40 – 20 = Rs. 20.

Hence, Answer is a, Rs. 20.

If 15m of cloths cost Rs. 1,260. Find the cost of 25m of same type of cloths.

a. Rs. 2,100  b. Rs. 2,075   b. 2,050   d. 2,025

Solution:

Cloths

Cost

15m

Rs. 1260

25m

Rs. x (let)

Cloths and Cost in direct variation.

Then, 15/25 = 1260/x

        or, 15x = 31500

        or, x = 31500/15 = 2,100

Hence, Answer is A, Rs. 2,100.
